Zapier setup
Connect Chatevo to Zapier to automate workflows when conversations start, messages arrive, tools run, or leads qualify — without building a full custom integration.
Common Zaps
Section titled “Common Zaps”| Trigger (Chatevo) | Action (Zapier) |
|---|---|
| New conversation | Create CRM lead in HubSpot/Salesforce |
| Message received | Slack notification to support channel |
| Tool succeeded | Update spreadsheet or Airtable row |
| Escalation tag | Create ticket in Zendesk |
Exact triggers depend on the published Chatevo Zapier app version.
- In Zapier, Create Zap → search Chatevo.
- Connect your Chatevo account (API key or OAuth — follow Zapier prompts).
- Select trigger event and map fields.
- Add action steps (email, CRM, webhook, etc.).
- Test with a live deployment conversation.
Authentication
Section titled “Authentication”Use a dedicated API key with minimum scopes for automation. Store keys in Zapier’s vault — not in Zaps as plain text steps.
Webhooks alternative
Section titled “Webhooks alternative”For full control over payload shape and retry logic, use Outbound webhooks with HMAC verification instead of or alongside Zapier.
Tool and rich content events
Section titled “Tool and rich content events”Zaps can react to tool success/failure for ops monitoring — pair with tool logs for debugging failed Zaps.
